Vision: Seeing the Future through God’s Eyes

I wanted to write a blog today to encourage my visionaries. Visionaries, in my opinion, are people who have heard from God to complete an assignment on this earth. Scripture informs us that God tells us the end in the beginning (Is. 46:10). This verse means that often when God gives us His vision, we may lack the resources and experience to complete it. Abraham was in a similar predicament in Genesis 12 when God promised to make a great nation from him when his wife was barren (Gen. 11:30). He struggled to believe this could take place based on the actions that he made after receiving the promise. In Genesis 15, God gave him a visual reminder that God would bring his commitment to fruition. God told him to look at the stars and to count them. This was no easy task for the Mediterranean sky that night. He was not able to count all the stars, and that was an illustration of just how numerous his seed would be in Israel. God wanted him to see it with the eye of faith even though he could not see with his natural eye (Gen. 15:4-6).

Likewise, many of you are reading this blog and wondering if God’s promise to you has passed you over. You may be thinking since what God has promised has not come to pass yet that you should be doing something else. Let me encourage you that what God has said, He will do. Without faith, it is impossible to please God, and those that receive from Him must believe that He is and that He can (Heb. 11:6). Do not give up on God’s plan for your life. You may be in preparation mode for what God had promised. It took Abram years before he grew into Abraham (Father of many Nations) (Gen. 17:4). Keep your eyes on what God has said by writing it down (Hab 2:2). Pray over it every day (Luke 18:1). Ask God to give you wisdom and insight into the people that you will impact. Ask God to humble you so that the vision does not contain selfish ambition. Ask God to help you develop patience as He prepares you for what is to come. Your time is coming one day, so keep believing and trusting God.
