Covered By His Love

With the spread of COVID-19, the world we once knew has changed. Businesses, schools, and professional sports leagues have canceled their seasons. People worldwide have been infected with the virus, and many have died because of it. It is normal to walk in the grocery store now and see people walk around with masks and gloves. The pandemic has created quite a scare in the minds and hearts of people. Many people are also looking for a scapegoat as to why did this epidemic take place. It has left questions in many people because they do not know who or what to trust. Jesus prophesied about a day that would come, and it is evident that we are living in a world like this now:

Luke 21:26 (KJV)

“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”

This passage speaks to the fact that something would come upon the earth one day that would shake systems on the planet (Financial, Business, Entertainment, governments). It would have men afraid because they would not know what would happen next. Perhaps, they would be frightened because they would not have the comforts and conveniences they once enjoyed. Maybe Christ was referring to a time when people would not know whether they would live or die because of a plague, virus, or war, so they were afraid every day. Maybe Christ was referring to a time when governments and businesses would crumble. The stock markets around the world take a plunge, and financial systems fail. Does any of this sound like anything that we are facing now in 2020?

Yes, I agree, we are living in some strange and unique times. However, if you are a believer, you can hope and encouragement when you read the Scriptures. I did not write this blog to state the obvious. I wrote this blog to speak the truth. Jesus said that the truth would set us free (John 8:32). God’s Word is truth, and it has the power to change facts that we see today (John 17:17). Let me encourage you to not be moved by what you currently see. Do not allow what you see; make you forget what God has said.

Today, I want to show you some truths in God’s Word that can bring you peace and comfort during this time. Let me remind you that we walk not by what we see, we walk by faith. We are to trust God and not allow fear to overtake our lives.

Truth #1: God loves you because we are His children. (Jer. 29:11) (Jer. 31:3) (John 3:16) (John 15:13) (Rom. 5:8) (Rom. 8:37-39) (Eph. 2:4-5) (1 John 3:1) (1 John 4:7-8) (1 John 4:16-19)

Truth #2: The more we understand that God loves us, we will not be afraid of COVID-19 or any other virus. (Deut. 31:6) (Ps. 23:4) (Ps. 27:1) (Ps. 34:4-5) (Ps. 46:1-3) (Ps. 56:3-4) (Ps. 91:4-5) (Ps. 112:6-8) (Matt. 8:25-27) (Matt. 10:29-32) (John 14:27) (2 Tim. 1:7) (Heb. 13:5-6)

Truth #3: Do not let your heart be troubled. Do not worry about today or tomorrow what could bring. (John 14:1) (Matt. 6:34) (2 Cor. 6:2) (Heb. 13:8)

Truth #4: Rest in God’s peace, and it will give you extreme confidence in this time. (Is. 26:3) (Matt. 11:28-30) (Heb. 4:9-11) (Heb. 10:35-36) (1 John 5:1-21) (Pro. 14:26) (Rom. 15:13) (Rom. 5:1) (1 John 4:4) (Heb. 4:16) (Phil. 4:13) (2 Cor. 3:4) (1 John 3:2) (Rom. 8:28) (2 Tim. 2:13) (1 Cor. 15:58) (Rom. 8:31)

Truth #5: Know that you are covered by the Blood of Jesus. (Acts 20:28) (Col. 1:20) (Eph. 1:7) (Heb. 9:14;22) (1 John 1:7) (Heb. 10:19) (Heb. 13:12) (Matt. 26:28) (Rev. 1:5) (Rev. 12:11) (Rom. 5:9) (Rom. 3:24-25) (1 Pet. 1:18-19) (1 Pet. 2:24) (Is. 53:4-5) (Gal. 3:13) (Eph. 2:12-13) (Col. 2:15) (Eph. 2:13) (Gal. 2:20) (Ps. 91)

These truths that I have shared with you will not be discussed on the local news station tonight. We must look to heaven for our inspiration. As we put a focus on the Word, we will discover that we are immune from any attempts that the devil tries to bring from COVID-19.
